The Show 2011

The Bath Spa University Graduate Fashion Show was spectacular on Monday night. Perfectly located in the Assembly Rooms which has been the haunt of the fashionable society since the 18th Century. The atmosphere was electric. As the lights went out we were bombarded by flashing strobes and figures running around the stage in a frenzy. The show had begun!
The first collection was 'White Shirts', designed by the first years, a staple classic for anyones wardrobe and in this case a work of art. The second years followed with ‘External Projects Designers’ and ‘Black Dress Designers’. The External projects were designs for Firetrap, Fashion Capital for Asos Black, Vanessa Lewis, Ted Baker and Mulberry. The black dresses were eye catching, every one so elegantly different and just as the white shirt a black dress is a must for any wardrobe. They were beautiful pieces of work and it amazed me how every student’s style was so unique.
The Graduate showcase was extremely inspiring and the students displayed their artistic talent incredibly. My personal favourite designers included Isabella Kent-Webb mainly because I love my vintage clothes. I could personally see myself wearing her clothes. The pieces were romantic and elegant, inspired by her great grandmother who was a cartoonist in the 1930’s. Tamsyn Pack for her strong and powerful designs, I fell in love with a black and lilac mini dress in her collection which was powerful enough to sit alone without needing any layering or accessories just as Tamsyn showed. Hannah Richardson for her detailing and use of layers with different fabrics without overwhelming the look. Lucy Penny for her 'Skin Deep' designs using fabric to resemble bones and Alice Parrot for the glitz and elegance of her evening wear. A white backless dress to die for. All the collections were outstanding and modelled beautifully.
Hannah Bennetts, Emily Booker, Pennie Bryant, Hope Burridge, Grace Butler, Saski Ford, Sophia Hallam, Hannah Harwin-Barclay, Hayley Johnson, Sophie Jones, Isabella Kent-Webb, Ji-Hoon Lee, Katie Mills, Tamsyn Pack, Alice Parrot, Lauren Pearse, Lucy Penny, Victoria Rich and Hannah Richardson. Congratulations!
The impressive show production was by top producer John Walford (Founder of The Fashion Scout), hair by Artizan, Make-up - No 7 by Boots and without Louise Pickles (course leader and coordinator of fashion) this amazing production would never be.
The continuous support was from Bath in Fashion, The Bath Fashion museum, Bastyan and Bath and North East Somerset.
It was a fantastic night and I now can't wait for next year!
